The four shapes are the silhouette families — a creature's body type comes from its behaviour (quick vs. deliberate, deep-focus vs. wide-skimming). Colour comes from playfulness (cool teals/indigos → warm corals/ambers). One here is dimmed and sunk to the floor: that's a sleeping creature whose human is offline. They flock toward the people they actually talk to.
